Corporate Lean Six Sigma Training for Teams, On-Site or Online

When one person earns a Belt, you get a skilled individual. When a whole team trains together, you get a shared language for problem solving, projects that move faster, and improvement that keeps going after the class ends. Work Stream Academy delivers corporate Lean Six Sigma training for groups of every size, at your site or online, with content tailored to the way your organization actually works.

Every program in our Academy, from White Belt through Master Black Belt, plus Lean Leader, Kaizen Facilitator and the Process Improvement Boot Camp for Supervisors, is available for group and team enrollment. Discounts are available for groups.

Built for teams that want lasting results

Team training fits organizations that want improvement to be part of how work gets done, not a side project for one specialist. It is a good fit if you are:

An operations or plant leader

Who wants frontline teams and supervisors using the same tools to remove waste and fix recurring problems.

An HR or L&D manager

Building a development path, with the right Belt for each role instead of one course for everyone.

A department head

Launching a continuous improvement effort and needing Green Belts and Black Belts to lead projects.

An executive team

That wants managers to lead a Lean transformation from the front.

A company working with Work Stream on consulting

That wants internal people trained to sustain the gains. Our consulting clients average a 10x return on investment, and training your own people is how you keep that momentum.

Not sure which mix of Belts your people need? Our free Which Belt Is Right for Your Team guide compares every level side by side and includes a quick self-check for each person.

Programs available for your team

You can enroll a group in any single program or combine several into a development path.

Lean Six Sigma Belts

(3 hours): An introduction to the basics and language of process improvement. Ideal for giving an entire workforce a common starting point. No project required.

(15 hours): The key tools and techniques used in Lean Six Sigma projects, for people who support improvement teams and contribute to smaller initiatives. No project required.

(80 hours): A deep dive into DMAIC and the core Lean Six Sigma toolkit, with a required real-world improvement project and mentorship from a Master Black Belt. Built for people who will lead improvement in their own departments.

(160 hours): Advanced statistical tools, change management and strategic alignment, with a required real-world project and 1:1 Master Black Belt mentorship. For people who will lead complex projects and coach others.

(200 hours): The highest level, for experienced Black Belts who will lead enterprise-wide initiatives, mentor others and drive long-term strategy. Black Belt certification is required first, and the program includes a strategic-level project with 1:1 mentorship and coaching.

Every Belt ends with an exam, and the pass mark is 80%.

Leadership and Lean programs

(24 hours): Turns managers into Lean champions. Covers Toyota’s 14 Principles, visual management and coaching techniques, plus how to align strategy with daily operations.

(40 hours): In-house Kaizen training that teaches your people to plan and run rapid improvement events with cross-functional teams, using a repeatable process to observe, measure, brainstorm, test solutions and standardize results. Our instructors have led over 1,000 successful Kaizen events, and participants receive a certificate.

(21 hours): Practical skills for frontline supervisors, including Gemba walks, standard work, root cause analysis, value stream mapping, error proofing and visual management.

Delivery options: on-site or online

Every program is offered both in person and online, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule, budget and locations.

On-site training

We come to your facility, anywhere in the world, and train your team together. Learning happens next to the real process, which makes it easier to practice tools like Gemba walks, Kaizen events and value stream mapping on your own work.

Online training

Online delivery lets people learn around shift schedules and across multiple sites without travel.

A blend of both

Many teams mix formats, for example online White or Yellow Belt for a broad group and in-person sessions for leaders or a Kaizen Facilitator cohort. Hybrid (self-paced online plus live) is available for every program except Black Belt and Master Black Belt. Advanced programs are taught live because the deeper topics need real instruction.

Whichever format you choose, course access lasts 6 months after completion, so people can return to the material when they apply it on the job.

How a group training engagement works

1

Initial conversation.

Tell us what is not working and who you want to train. A Master Black Belt reviews your inquiry and talks with you about goals, roles and timing.

2

Match people to programs.

We help you decide which Belt or program fits each person, using the same criteria as our Belt guide. Prerequisites, such as Black Belt before Master Black Belt, are planned in from the start.

3

Tailor the content.

We adapt examples, exercises and emphasis to your industry and processes (see below).

4

Deliver the training.

On-site, online or a mix, scheduled around your operations.

5

Apply it on real work.

Green Belt, Black Belt and Master Black Belt participants complete real projects with Master Black Belt mentorship, so training produces results, not just certificates.

6

Certify and plan next steps.

Belt participants sit the exam (80% to pass). We can then help you plan the next wave of training or support projects through our consulting services.

Training tailored to your organization

Generic examples only go so far. For group training, we tailor the content to each client: we can use examples from your industry, focus on the tools that matter most for your current problems, and connect projects to your strategic priorities. Teams spend less time translating textbook cases and more time improving their own processes. Because Work Stream is also a consulting firm, our trainers bring hands-on improvement experience into the room.
